The traditional draw to elect the Senior Grape Harvesters for the 71st Montilla-Moriles Grape Harvest Festival took place at the Casa del Inca, bringing together association representatives, Municipal Corporation members, and residents. Natalia Marín Cabanillas and José Antonio Marín García, representatives of the Gran Capitán Neighbors Association, have been designated as the Senior Grape Harvesters for this edition.
The event was attended by the mayor of Montilla, Rafael Llamas, the Councilor for Festivals, Miguel Sánchez, and representatives from various local entities, who accompanied the candidates. The election was conducted through a draw where an innocent hand extracted the ballot with the names of the chosen individuals.
Natalia Marín Cabanillas and José Antonio Marín García take over from the representatives of the El Centro Neighbors Association, who held the recognition in the previous edition. Five local groups participated in this edition, each with a pair of candidates.
Following the draw, the bands were presented to the new Senior Grape Harvesters, and the Montilla City Council presented a gift to all participants, recognizing their involvement in one of the municipality's most representative celebrations.
Mayor Rafael Llamas congratulated the elected individuals and thanked all the groups and candidates for their participation, emphasizing the festival's connection to wine culture and the identity of Montilla.
With this election, a new phase begins for the 71st Montilla-Moriles Grape Harvest Festival, which will take place from September 3 to 7, 2026, and is declared of Tourist Interest.
