The initiative, promoted by the Tourism Department in collaboration with MundaEventos, will offer about fifty participants the chance to witness the astronomical phenomenon while enjoying a tasting of regional vermouths and learning about the night sky from an astronomer. The evening will also allow for partial observation of a solar eclipse scheduled for that day.
The Councilor for Tourism, Adrián Lapsley, highlighted that this proposal aims to expand the summer tourist offerings with unique experiences combining nature, scientific outreach, and local gastronomy, in this case, Montilla vermouth. This activity joins others such as the Festival de las Fuentes and night hiking routes.
The experience will begin with a free bus departure from the Montilla Bus Station at 8:00 PM, which will transport registered participants to Cerro Don Juan. There, after a short walk to the viewpoint, an astronomer will guide the observation using telescopes and explaining the wonders of the night sky.
Participation is free, with a limited capacity of 50 people, and requires prior registration through the platform provided by the Municipal Tourism Office. The Montilla City Council thus reinforces its commitment to innovative tourism that highlights the municipality's landscape and wine culture.
