The initiative, organized by the Montilla City Council and the Alvear Foundation, will transform the winery's facilities into a living stage to explore Montilla's history, culture, and wine heritage. The event coincides with the Montilla-Moriles Grape Harvest Festival.
The program includes 16 performances, with four daily shows and a limited capacity of 25 spectators per session, totaling 400 attendees. Performances will start at 6:00 PM, 7:00 PM, 8:00 PM, and 9:00 PM, lasting approximately 45 to 60 minutes.
The immersive theater format allows the audience to interact with characters and become part of the story, discovering key episodes related to Montilla's wine, the Pedro Ximénez grape, and local wine heritage.
The mayor of Montilla, Rafael Llamas, highlighted the collaboration between the local administration and private enterprise, stating that "these types of projects are only possible thanks to the commitment of the business sector and entities like the Alvear Foundation".
The production, originally conceived by Juan Carlos Rubio, maintains its essence with artistic direction by Antonio Salas and the same cast of actors participating altruistically.
The president of the Alvear Foundation, Mamen Giménez de Alvear, expressed the goal of establishing the Vendimia Teatral as a permanent fixture and announced organizational improvements, including rest areas for seniors and an activity zone for children.
Ticket sales will combine an in-person point at the Bodegas Alvear shop, prioritizing local residents, with an online platform to broaden the event's reach across the province and Andalusia.
