The change of location, affecting the celebration scheduled between May 8, 9, and 10, was confirmed by local authorities after assessing the state of the ground. Intense rainfall in recent weeks has made the original space unusable, prioritizing the safety of attendees.
“"We face the peculiarity that the pilgrimage cannot be held in El Batanejo and will be moved to the municipal fairgrounds."
To ensure the smooth running of the festivity in its new location, a special security operation has been designed, including increased presence of the Guardia Civil. Authorities have appealed for understanding from residents regarding this exceptional situation, highlighting the deep roots of the pilgrimage in the community.
The City Council is working intensively on adapting the fairgrounds, which also suffered from flooding, to ensure it can host the pilgrimage in the best possible conditions. The goal is to maintain the spirit of the celebration while guaranteeing the safety and well-being of all participants and visitors.
