The operation, named Último refugio (Last Refuge), began after a noticeable increase in drug peddling was detected in the Sevillian town of Mairena del Alcor, causing considerable concern among residents.
Officers established surveillance around a residence suspected of being used as a storage and distribution center for illicit substances. These efforts led to the identification of several individuals involved in the network, each with a specific role within the organization.
During the house search, authorities seized 5.5 kilograms of hashish, 828 grams of marijuana, and 3,228 euros in cash. Additionally, a taser-type pistol was confiscated along with various items such as televisions, watches, and tools, whose origin is being investigated as potentially stolen goods.
The investigation, conducted by the Main Post of Los Alcores, concluded with the arrest of five individuals. All have been brought before judicial authorities as alleged perpetrators of crimes against public health, membership in a criminal group, and illegal possession of weapons. One of the detainees has been remanded in custody.
The Civil Guard continues to analyze the information and statements obtained, so further arrests related to this case are not ruled out.
