This training initiative aims to turn the site into an active space for research and heritage outreach. During the sessions, students participate in reproducing historical craft processes, such as the creation, decoration, and firing of ceramic pieces using traditional techniques.
Institutional collaboration allows students to carry out complex practical work that requires specific conditions, such as the use of wood-fired kilns, which are impossible to replicate in conventional university settings. The program aligns with the research lines of the Meridies group at the University of Córdoba, which specializes in medieval craft technology.
Practical activities include building a kiln for metallic luster ceramics and glazing pieces. For future editions, the organization plans to incorporate experimentation with the bread oven preserved at the site, further strengthening the educational and scientific potential of Torreparedones.
