“"A series of protocols have been established to guarantee the security of sporting events, with special attention to cases like the current one, which involves heightened confrontational rhetoric and previous violent incidents. However, it is the Anti-Violence Commission that is responsible for evaluating and, if necessary, declaring the match as high-risk."

The National Police has activated an enhanced security operation for the football derby between Xerez DFC and Xerez CD in Jerez, deemed high-risk by the Anti-Violence Commission, taking place this Sunday.
The match, corresponding to the 33rd round of Group 4 of Segunda RFEF, will be held at the Chapín stadium and is crucial for both league survival and play-off qualification. Its coincidence with the Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix in the same city adds an extra layer of complexity to security management.
The decision to declare the match high-risk is based on past incidents of violence involving radical groups from both fan bases and the intense rivalry between the two city teams, as reported by the National Police.
To ensure fan safety, the police deployment will be reinforced with specialized units from the Jerez Police Station, the Cádiz Provincial Police Station, and other nearby towns. The primary goal is to prevent and control potential disturbances more effectively.
The National Police has reminded the public that uncivil, violent, or public order offenses can lead to significant personal financial penalties and even criminal liability, in accordance with the Citizen Security Law 4/2015 and the Sports Law 39/2022.
