The Zona Franca of Cadiz has taken a significant step in its commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship by joining the PIDI Network. This strategic network, promoted by the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI), which is part of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, has the primary objective of offering support and advice to the business sector.
The Network of Information Points on Research, Development, and Innovation (PIDI Network) is dedicated to providing information and guidance on the most suitable funding lines for technological and business projects. It covers a broad administrative spectrum, from local initiatives to international programs.
Entities whose competencies include the promotion and advice of companies and entrepreneurs are eligible to join the PIDI Network. The Cadiz Consortium is also in the process of implementing a new Industry 4.0 model, focused on innovation and sustainability, aligned with the CDTI's guidelines to foster innovation and technological development in Spanish companies.
Member entities of the PIDI Network use their own resources to handle requests for information and advice on public funding for R&D&I within their geographical and sectoral scope, registering these requests in the network's management system. They also organize events in collaboration with the CDTI to disseminate funding programs and facilitate business technological cooperation.
The CDTI, as a public business entity under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, is the driving force behind the PIDI Network. Its work focuses on promoting innovation and technological development in Spanish companies by developing instruments and programs, and channeling aid requests for R&D&I projects by Spanish companies at both state and international levels.
