Structural consolidation works at the former Rosario Institute in Cadiz, a building that has remained closed for 19 years, will begin next June. This property will become the future site of the Fernando Quiñones Hospitality School, currently located in Zona Franca. The works, awarded to the company Atlántico 18 SL for 735,788 euros, have a six-month execution period, with completion expected by the end of the year.

This tender had previously been declared void in December, as a company submitted a bid but failed to provide all the required documentation. Following this setback, the Provincial Council of Cadiz re-tendered the contract.

The president of the Provincial Council of Cadiz, Almudena Martínez, announced that the contract for the drafting of the building's adaptation project will be formalized with Tragsa in approximately one month. Subsequently, the execution of these works will be put out to public tender, with an estimated five-month timeframe to finalize the project.

Martínez emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration in carrying out complex and necessary projects for the city, stating that the relocation of the Hospitality School to El Rosario will provide an educational, social, and economic boost for the center of Cadiz, fulfilling a historic debt.

The initial works will focus exclusively on the structural consolidation of the building, without affecting its volume, facade, or space distribution. The technical report indicates a varied state of conservation, with numerous repairs to structural elements throughout its history, necessitating reinforcement and safety restoration measures for slabs, ceilings, and the installation of new metal pillars on various floors.
