The Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences at the University of Cádiz (UCA) hosted the first edition of the “Transferring Economy, Business and Science” conference. This event, held on Thursday, aimed to strengthen ties between the research community and the business fabric of the region, highlighting academic work and its potential impact on economic development.
During the inauguration, the Dean of the Faculty and the Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer emphasized the importance of these initiatives in showcasing the transfer work carried out by academic teams. Both figures stressed that these conferences seek to demonstrate how this transfer is organized and facilitate the exchange of experiences between researchers and companies, with the intention of consolidating this meeting in future editions.
The program included a round table titled “Research – Business – Transfer,” where experts from academic and business fields participated. Key topics such as identifying collaboration opportunities, the business perspective on interaction with the university, and administrative procedures for formalizing these processes were addressed. Additionally, doctoral students presented their research plans, focusing on digitalization, business sustainability, and leadership.
The conference also featured a scientific poster exhibition, where research groups from the Faculty presented work on intellectual capital, human resource management, and applied economics. This format allowed for direct dialogue among researchers, students, and business representatives, culminating in a networking space for consultations and project explanations in a more informal setting.
With this first edition, the University of Cádiz reaffirms its commitment as an active agent in the economic and social development of the province, seeking to ensure that research results find practical and relevant application in the productive environment of Cádiz.
