This initiative, promoted by the Cádiz City Council, aims to highlight the role of women in flamenco, both historically and in its contemporary presence. The recital will begin at 8:00 PM and will feature the participation of cantaoras Naike Ponce, Teresa Hernández, and Pilar 'La Gineta'.
The artists will be accompanied by guitarist Daniel Bonmatti and percussionist David Gavira, who will provide musical support for a journey through various flamenco styles. Special attention will be given to traditional cantes that have been passed down through generations, as well as the evolution of 'arte jondo' in the current scene.
“"The show offers a journey through different flamenco styles, with special attention to traditional cantes that have been transmitted from generation to generation."
This event is part of the stable cultural program of the La Merced Flamenco Center, a municipal space located in the historic center of Cádiz, dedicated to the dissemination of flamenco through performances, cycles, and training activities.
Tickets for 'Cante de Mujer' are priced at 8 euros for advance purchase and 10 euros on the day of the show, subject to availability. They can be purchased at the Gran Teatro Falla box office, from Tuesday to Friday between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM and from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, or through the online platform.
