The well-known restaurant Bodegón Andalucía, located in San Fernando, will dedicate a significant tribute to Antonio Martín, one of the most prominent figures of the Cadiz Carnival. The event is scheduled for August 20th and aims to recognize the author's prolific career.
Antonio Martín García, honored with the Gold Medal of Andalusia in 2019, boasts over half a century of dedication to the carnival. During this time, he has secured 16 first prizes in comparsas, establishing himself as a historical reference of the festival. Popularly known as "El niño de San Vicente", his legacy includes 37 finals and numerous accolades in various categories such as comparsas, choirs, and chirigotas.
“"Antonio Martín García is, without a doubt, one of the most important figures of this festival."
The nomination for the Gold Medal received support from over 4,000 signatures, underscoring the broad backing from both the carnival community and the public. Additionally, Martín served as the town crier for the Cadiz Carnival in 1997 and received the Golden Antifaz in 1981.
The tribute is part of the carnival activities that the venue organizes during the summer season. Following the main event, the author's anthology will be presented, offering a journey through his celebrated compositions.
