PP Defends Ownership of 'El Madrugador' for El Puerto, Criticizing PSOE, IU, and La Línea 100x100

The People's Party (PP) of El Puerto de Santa María, through its general secretary Javier Bello González, has defended the municipal ownership of the 'El Madrugador' building, criticizing the stance of PSOE, IU, and La Línea 100x100.

The general secretary of the People's Party (PP) of El Puerto de Santa María, Javier Bello González, has responded to criticisms from PSOE, IU, and La Línea 100x100 regarding the future of the building known as 'El Madrugador'. Bello firmly defended that 'El Madrugador' is an underutilized public building, in which over 20 million euros have been invested and which has remained practically abandoned by previous governments. "It is in El Puerto, and it will be the mayor of El Puerto who decides what to do with it," he stated.
In an official statement, Bello emphasized that "neither PSOE, nor IU, nor La Línea will continue to ignore the people of El Puerto, who own our present and our future." He added that the city's mayor "has always put El Puerto first, defending the city's interests against anyone," an attitude that, according to Bello, "some are not accustomed to, although they should start to be."
The popular leader believes that the spokesperson for the Socialist Group in the Provincial Council of Cádiz, Javier Pizarro Ruiz, "is completely mistaken" in interpreting that 'El Madrugador' should be allocated to the entire province. "'El Madrugador' belongs to El Puerto and is for the interests of El Puerto," he affirmed, adding that "the spokesperson for the PSOE of El Puerto would not be thrilled if a building in our city were intended to benefit residents from La Línea or Alcalá."
With a touch of sarcasm, Bello referred to other facilities, stating, "If that is the logic, then they should also give us the keys to the Alejandro Sanz Museum in Alcalá de Los Gazules or the stadium in La Línea so that the people of El Puerto can use them and generate opportunities for our people there."
Regarding Izquierda Unida, Bello indicated that "no one remembered 'El Madrugador' until the mayor of El Puerto brought it up and opened a real debate about its future." He criticized the tone used by the party, stating that "they constantly resort to disqualification and insults to try to gain prominence."
Finally, the general secretary of the portuense PP thanked the provincial president of the People's Party, Bruno García, the president of the Provincial Council, Almudena Martínez, and the mayor of La Línea, Juan Franco, for the "political and administrative impetus given so that the mayor of El Puerto can directly manage and process a building that belongs to El Puerto and whose future should only be decided by the people of El Puerto."
