The meeting, held in El Puerto, allowed the left-wing political group and the union to address the socioeconomic fabric of the Bay. Key conclusions included the urgent need for vocational training that adapts to the challenges and new trends in industry, as well as extending the metal industry agreement to auxiliary industries.
“"Industry is a unique strategic sector for Cádiz, and that is why we must support it, providing quality public training as a platform. We need a Government that supports the industrial sector in the province of Cádiz."
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the province of Cádiz, especially the Bay, requires vocational training that prepares workers for future challenges, anticipating sustained long-term workload in the sector. A call was made to authorities to prioritize investment in this area and avoid the privatization of training.
“"Right now, there is no public vocational training that is capable of guaranteeing the needs of those industries that have already joined."
The union also highlighted the importance of improving employment quality in the province, reducing the gender gap in the sector, and ensuring that the metal industry agreement covers auxiliary industries. These measures aim to strengthen the commitment to the region's industrial development, beyond tourism.
