With the PAU (university entrance exam) results now known, thousands of students in the province of Cádiz face the choice of their academic future. The University of Cádiz (UCA) has announced it will offer a total of 4,959 places for the 2026-2027 academic year, distributed across 46 single degrees and 21 double degrees. The ordinary pre-registration period will be open until June 22, with the first place allocation scheduled for July 3.
It is important to remember that the definitive cut-off marks for the 2026-2027 academic year do not yet exist and will be known once the admission process is completed. The most reliable reference for applicants is the official table from the 2025-2026 academic year, which serves as a guide to identify the most in-demand degrees and those requiring the highest minimum score.
According to data from the previous year, the degrees with the highest cut-off marks at UCA are primarily concentrated in the areas of Health Sciences, Mathematics, Biotechnology, and Engineering. Notably, Medicine in Cádiz (13.1572), the double degree in Mathematics and Computer Engineering in Puerto Real (12.8573), and Aerospace Engineering, also in Puerto Real (12.4714), stand out.
Other degrees with high admission requirements include Nursing in Jerez (12.0905) and Cádiz (12.0896), Physiotherapy in Cádiz (11.6927), and several engineering double degrees in Puerto Real. Mathematics and Biotechnology, both in Puerto Real, are also among the most sought-after.
On the other end of the spectrum, the University of Cádiz offers numerous degrees with a minimum cut-off mark of 5 points. These degrees, which do not imply lower academic quality, are those where the number of places offered has been sufficient to meet the demand. These include Marine Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Tourism, Oenology, various engineering programs, philological and historical studies, as well as degrees in Business Administration and Management, Finance, Marketing, and Labour Relations across different campuses.
The academic offerings of UCA are distributed across four campuses: Cádiz, Puerto Real, Jerez, and Bahía de Algeciras, each with distinct specializations ranging from health sciences and humanities to engineering and legal and economic studies.
The UCA recommends that students complete their pre-registration by ordering all their desired degrees by preference. The admission process will continue with several allocations and waiting lists, so not securing a place in the first round does not necessarily mean being excluded. The university advises evaluating alternatives, career prospects, and keeping all options open within the admission process.
