The event organizers publicly announced the selected titles on April 27. The finalist works are El balanceo del Alacrán, La Capitana, La noche de los aprendices, Flor de agua, and Matacrías.
This award is a central part of the Gaditanoir program, a well-established gathering in the city of Cádiz dedicated to the crime fiction genre. Over four days, the festival will bring together writers, readers, and industry professionals for various activities including literary presentations, round tables, and author meetings.
The award ceremony will take place at the closing gala, where the winning work will be announced from among the five finalist titles. The competition aims to recognize outstanding works within the crime fiction genre in the current literary landscape.
Headquartered at the Casa de Iberoamérica, Gaditanoir is supported by the Cádiz City Council and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the CSIF union. The selection of finalists reflects the diversity of proposals within the genre, both in narrative approaches and themes, and the jury's decision will be revealed on the final day of the festival.
