For four days, from Thursday, April 16 to Sunday, April 19, the Arcos de la Frontera Fairgrounds hosted Burgerlandya 2026, a gastronomic event that allowed attendees to taste and vote for their favorite burgers. This competition has become one of the most anticipated events of the year in the region.
First place went to the Jerez establishment Loca, with its creation La Comandante Lara. In second place was Smashyao with Brontosauria, which was also the best-selling burger of the event. Third place was taken by the Locura establishment with its La Elegida burger.
“"A bar counter, without rules. We cook what and how we want."
The winning burger, La Comandante Lara, is distinguished by its brioche bun, double beef patty, cheddar cheese, an onion stew with oloroso wine, fried egg cream, and pork rind powder, offering a unique combination of flavors.
This recognition adds to the successes of Jerez, which holds the title of Spanish Gastronomy Capital 2026. The Loca establishment, known for its signature burgers, opened its doors in March 2026, following the closure of a previous gastrobar by the same chef.
Burgerlandya 2026 saw the participation of twelve of the best specialized burger establishments from across the province of Cádiz, including representatives from towns such as Jerez, San Fernando, and Ubrique. This year's edition introduced novelties such as chicken burgers, vegan options, and gluten-free bread.
