The firefighting operations in Doñana have led to a redesign of parts of the Plan Romero, particularly affecting the return paths for the filiales from Cádiz. As an alternative measure, it has been decided that motorized vehicles will travel along the beach to cross via Bajo de Guía.
However, the lack of supply points along the approximately 50 kilometers of beach makes it impossible for horses and pedestrians to undertake this journey. Consequently, animals and many of the 'simpecados' (processional standards) will travel by road, while motorized vehicles will use the coast. Despite these changes, all brotherhoods are expected to reach their destinations on schedule, with the return journey shortened to a single day.
The Hermandad Matriz de Almonte has decided to postpone its return from the village until Thursday afternoon. This decision, made in agreement with the corporation's senior brother, will allow for the reorganization of the return routes for the Cádiz brotherhoods, who are also affected by the restrictions.
The departure towards Almonte will finally take place on Thursday, maintaining the schedule initially planned for Tuesday, but only after all Cádiz brotherhoods have left the village. The city of Huelva will welcome its two main brotherhoods, Huelva and Emigrantes, this Wednesday, marking the end of a week of Rocío fervor.
