Firefighters from the Cádiz Provincial Consortium intervened on Friday night in a spectacular fire that broke out in a four-story building. The blaze, which originated in a meter room, generated a dense column of smoke that affected several homes.
During the operation, emergency services attended to a person who showed mild symptoms of smoke inhalation, later being transferred for a more thorough medical evaluation. Additionally, the personnel managed to rescue two dogs alive from one of the affected homes, although unfortunately a third animal was found deceased.
Local Police officers collaborated in the evacuation of some residences, while other residents remained confined to their homes until the arrival of the firefighters. The intervention, which began around 8:00 PM, lasted until after 1:00 AM, requiring the use of CO2 extinguishers and a thousand liters of water to put out the flames.
Once the fire was under control, firefighters proceeded to cut off the electricity supply and ventilate the building to clear the accumulated smoke. Four personnel from the Chiclana station and three vehicles participated in the firefighting efforts, also with the collaboration of the Civil Guard.
