The family gathering took place at the historic Arsenal de La Carraca, promoted by Patiño in 1717, who also served as General Intendant of the Navy and Secretary of State for Naval Affairs. His work was crucial in establishing the Bay of Cadiz as a primary naval and commercial center for the Spanish monarchy.
During the day, Patiño's descendants had the opportunity to see the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano up close, as well as tour the emblematic facilities of the Arsenal de La Carraca and the Pantheon of Illustrious Sailors.
“"We hope to resolve it soon."
The event concluded with a cocktail reception where Alfonso Patiño y Muguiro, 9th Marquis of Castelar, along with other family members, exchanged gifts with Navy representatives as a memento of the visit.
