The international tourism sector in the province of Cádiz has generated 82.2 million euros in the first six months of the year. Spending is concentrated mainly in restaurants (24.6 million) and accommodation (19.7 million), with these two categories accounting for over half of the total. However, this figure represents a slight decrease compared to the same period in 2025 (82.4 million) and a more pronounced drop compared to 2024 (83.5 million).
These figures are derived from the new Tourism Intelligence Platform (PIT), promoted by the Tourism Board of the Diputación de Cádiz. In the restaurant sector, spending has increased by 0.1% compared to the previous year, while accommodation saw a 3.5% increase, reaching record highs for the first semester in the last three years.
Spending on restaurants has added 31,274 euros more than in 2025 and 630,000 euros more than in 2024. American tourists contribute the most to this category, accounting for one in every four euros. In accommodation, spending has increased by over 669,000 euros compared to 2025, with Germans and Americans leading the spending, exceeding 7 million and 3.3 million euros respectively.
The entertainment sector has experienced the largest percentage increase, up 66% from 2025, led by tourists from the United Kingdom. Other significant categories include food (11.4 million), textiles (8.4 million), and transport (4.2 million), with the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom as the main emitters. Spending on health and pharmacies amounts to 3.2 million.
The American tourist has spent the most in total (20.4 million), despite not being the largest emitter of visitors. The main source markets for tourists to the province of Cádiz remain Germany (18.2 million) and the United Kingdom (11.4 million), followed by France (6.5 million) and the Netherlands (4.9 million). This ranking is similar to that of 2025, with only one change compared to 2024 in the first and second positions between Germany and the United States.
