This decrease represents a 3.03% reduction compared to the previous month, when 7,661 people were unemployed. The statistics for March offer a relief in the labor landscape, in line with the positive trend observed in Andalusia, which added more than 50,000 new affiliates.
The sector analysis in El Puerto de Santa María highlights a strong dependence on the tertiary sector, which accounts for the majority of job seekers. In contrast, other sectors such as agriculture, construction, and industry show significantly lower figures, with 105, 496, and 302 job seekers respectively. Additionally, 961 individuals are listed as having no previous employment.
Regarding gender distribution, job demand is higher among women, with 4,826 seeking work, compared to 2,603 men. By age group, the Andalusian Employment Service (SAE) indicates that 481 applicants are under 25 years old, 2,473 are between 25 and 44 years old, and 4,475 are over 25 years old.
Regionally, March data reveals that hospitality and construction are the main drivers of job creation in Andalusia. The hospitality and accommodation services sector generated an average of 19,433 affiliates over 30 days, while the construction sector contributed an average of 7,017 monthly jobs in the community.
