The Spanish State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts that summer conditions will solidify in the province of Cádiz during the last week of May. Although Wednesday will still feel the Levante wind with yellow alerts for gusts up to 80 km/h and strong seas in some areas, a progressive weakening of the wind is expected from Thursday onwards.
This decrease in wind, which will shift to a southwesterly direction giving way to the Poniente wind on Friday, will favor a notable rise in temperatures, especially in inland regions. Municipalities such as Jerez de la Frontera, Arcos de la Frontera, and Villamartín could register highs of up to 37 and 38 degrees Celsius over the weekend, with warmer nights and minimums around 20-21 degrees.
In contrast, the Cádiz coast and the Campo de Gibraltar will experience milder temperatures due to maritime influence. In Cádiz capital, highs will remain around 28 degrees Celsius, while in San Fernando they will range between 27 and 30 degrees. Areas like Tarifa, Algeciras, or La Línea will barely exceed 23 or 24 degrees.
Aemet also warns that sub-seasonal forecasts point to temperatures above the usual average for the beginning of June in much of Andalusia, suggesting an early start to meteorological summer in the province of Cádiz.
