Cádiz CF concluded a lackluster 2025-26 season with a heavy 4-1 defeat against Racing de Santander at El Sardinero, showing a lack of intensity and concentration.

The Cadiz-based team traveled to Santander without the pressure of fighting for survival, which was reflected in a low-quality first half. Despite the improvement, Racing sealed the match in the 72nd minute with a fourth goal from Iñigo Vicente, who scored after a one-on-one with David Gil. The game concluded with the emotional substitution of Álex Fernández, who was given a standing ovation by players from both teams and the crowd.
