The event, part of the Cultural Agenda of the University Extension Service, will offer free admission until full capacity is reached, marking the end of the annual training program.
Both students and faculty from the school will participate in the recital, showcasing the work done in classrooms throughout the year. Each rehearsal group, known as a “combo,” will perform two to three pieces prepared during the course.
The repertoire will cover a wide variety of contemporary popular music styles, including genres such as rock, pop, jazz, reggae, flamenco, samba, and funk. This activity is conceived as an essential part of the training process, allowing students to apply their technical knowledge and develop improvisation in a live performance setting.
“"The stage experience is considered a key tool in musical training, as it allows students to face live performance and collective work."
With over thirty years of experience, the Modern Music and Jazz School of UCA has established itself as a benchmark in contemporary popular music education at the university in Cádiz. The concert on May 6 will not only serve as a public display of academic work but also as an opportunity for citizens to enjoy a free cultural activity in the city center, at the emblematic Constitución 1812 Building, popularly known as “La Bomba”.
