The Minister of Education, María del Carmen Castillo, highlighted key initiatives of the program such as school radios and educational debate tournaments, which generate great interest among students. She emphasized that 'ComunicA' also promotes media and audiovisual literacy, adapting to the languages of the 21st century and the current digital context.
Educational centers develop systematic actions to work on oral skills (expression, listening, interaction, argumentation), reading and writing (functional and creative), and audiovisual literacy, including critical comprehension and the creation of content.
Educational Debate is a central activity and the origin of the tournaments. This practice fosters linguistic communication and social competencies such as responsibility, critical judgment, and democratic behavior.
Last academic year, 2025/26, hosted the V Andalusian Educational Debate Tournament in Spanish, English, and French. This formative and non-competitive activity is a valuable tool for teachers in the comprehensive education of students.
School radios, present in 64 public centers in the province last year, strengthen educational programs for communication, reading, and literacy. They will be consolidated with the creation of the Network of Andalusian Schoolchildren (REdA).
The Ministry of Education is preparing a new call for the next academic year, aiming to strengthen communicative competence, promote media literacy, and facilitate the exchange of good practices among Andalusian centers.
The registration period will be from September 1 to 30, open to all centers. Teacher training courses and in-person meetings will also be offered.
As a complement, the Ministry continues with the ‘Abecedaria’ program, focused on training spectators through the Andalusian Network of Public Theaters, which last year included 256 performances for schoolchildren from 500 centers.
