The transition is part of a series of appointments decreed by the apostolic administrator of the diocese. The parish, which serves various brotherhoods and movements, will begin a new chapter under new leadership.
The former head of the parish will move to the Nuestra Señora del Rosario church in the capital of Cadiz. The newly appointed priest will also serve as the Episcopal Delegate for Family and Defense of Life.
The diocesan restructuring also impacts other locations in the town. At the San Marcos Evangelista parish, the current parochial vicar will take on the role of parish priest.
