“"The City Council claims that any improvements must wait for the new contracting tender to be approved in November, but many of the measures we have proposed can be implemented immediately with the current tender and regulations, and with unspent remnants from the Social Affairs and Housing budget lines."

The Nadie Sin Hogar Movement has expressed its disappointment following a meeting with the Cádiz City Council, accusing the local administration of refusing to guarantee accommodation for all homeless individuals and reducing available places.
The organization has voiced its "disappointment" after a second meeting with the mayor of Cádiz, held on Monday, April 20, to address improvements in the care and protection of homeless people. According to the collective, the mayor insists that resources have already been expanded but refuses to assume the legal obligation to guarantee accommodation for everyone, as established by Article 42L of the Andalusian Social Services Law.
The Nadie Sin Hogar Movement reports that, far from improving, the situation has worsened. The capacity of the dormitory at the Fermín Salvochea Center has been reduced from 40 to 25 places. Furthermore, for several weeks, individuals staying there are not guaranteed to retain their place the following day, creating daily uncertainty.
A user present at the meeting noted that the capacity "is renewed day by day now, and every day you face the uncertainty of whether you will be left out, whereas before it was not like that." Additionally, shower hours have also been significantly restricted, changing from an initial broad schedule of 8:00 to 20:00 to more limited slots from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 15:00 to 17:30.
The collective reminds that the Andalusian Ombudsman maintains an open ex officio investigation into these deficiencies, which have been repeatedly denounced by various organizations assisting homeless people in the city.
