The interruption of service, affecting all scheduled departures in both directions, was announced by the UTE Catamaranes Bahía de Cádiz via the website of the Consorcio de Transportes Bahía de Cádiz. The decision was made in anticipation of a storm that has caused instability in the province.
The situation will be re-evaluated at 5:00 PM to determine if maritime connections can resume later in the afternoon. Until then, planned journeys remain canceled, impacting both residents and visitors who use this mode of transport for work, personal, or tourist travel.
“"The suspension responds to the meteorological situation forecast for the day."
To mitigate inconvenience, the Consorcio has arranged an alternative road service covering routes between Cádiz and Rota, and between Cádiz and El Puerto. This service aims to ensure the mobility of users affected by the catamaran cancellations.
The maritime connections in the Bay are a key public transport alternative, especially in high demand during weekends. No incidents have been reported on other maritime routes in the province, such as those operating between Algeciras and Tangier, which continue to run normally.
