Five emblematic towns in Cádiz: Castellar de la Frontera, Vejer de la Frontera, Grazalema, Setenil de las Bodegas, and Zahara de la Sierra, will be the hosts of a highly significant tourism and heritage event. This international summit places the province of Cádiz on the global stage for rural beauty, an honor that comes to Spain nearly a decade after its last national edition.
The event will gather official representatives from nations such as France, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Portugal, China, Lebanon, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, among others. The inaugural ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 21st, at 10:00 AM at the Hotel Casa Convento La Almoraima, in Castellar, where delegates from globally recognized village networks will convene.
Following the institutional meeting, delegations will participate in a group photograph in front of the fortress of Castellar, an image intended to promote the rich heritage of the province of Cádiz internationally. Over several days, representatives will tour spectacular locations, gaining firsthand experience of the historical heritage, gastronomy, landscape, and cultural identity of these municipalities.
The selection of Cádiz as the host represents a significant boost for tourism in the province's interior and underscores the growing international interest in quality rural tourism. The Association Los Pueblos más Bonitos de España, which includes 126 towns, is part of the Federation of the Most Beautiful Villages in the World, an international network dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism and visibility for small municipalities with great heritage and cultural value.
