Official figures released by the Tourism Intelligence Platform (PIT) of the Provincial Tourism Board of Cadiz confirm that the year 2026 marks a milestone in cruise tourism for the region.
Specifically, a total of 269,962 people have visited the province aboard cruise ships during the first six months of the year. This figure represents a significant increase of 59,855 cruise passengers compared to the same period in 2025, an increase of 28.49%.
The record for passengers disembarking from premium cruises was also surpassed, reaching 99,092 people, which is 15,951 more than the previous year. Although the number of premium cruise calls was lower (67 in 2026 versus 71 in 2025), the total number of calls, both premium and standard, increased by almost 6%, from 135 to 143.
May 2026 stood out as the best month for sea arrivals, with 83,343 passengers, 25,340 more than in May 2025.
This record in cruise passenger arrivals coincides with a historic figure for total visitors to the province of Cadiz, exceeding 2.7 million tourists in the first six months of the year. Cruise passengers account for approximately 10% of all people who have visited the province.
