The removal of the fence that had obstructed the view of the building's front for years has restored prominence to this structure, a landmark of Cádiz's urban landscape. The station, opened in 1905, ceased operations as a terminal in the mid-sixties and was later used as a train depot.
This new pathway opened by Adif, directly connecting its surface parking lots, will serve as access to the future leisure and dining complex to be built at the old Cádiz station. The project, promoted by businessman Rafael Casillas, is expected to be operational by 2027.
