The Vícar City Council will soon commence actions aimed at improving the horizontal signage of the entire Ciudad de Vícar boulevard and beyond, specifically the section of the national highway 340 between Puebla de Vícar and the town of El Cosario, as well as all roundabouts within this stretch. The project will cover a total of eight kilometers, from El Parador to El Cosario, including enhancements to road markings and all pedestrian crossings.
The mayor of Vícar, Antonio Bonilla, emphasized the importance of this intervention in increasing road and pedestrian safety in areas with high daily mobility. "Our concern for road safety is a priority in our government's actions, and that is why we have proposed this project, which will bring a significant improvement to our road network for the benefit of citizens," he stated.
The works, awarded to the company Áridos y Construcciones La Redonda, SL, will begin shortly and are expected to last approximately one month. The total investment amounts to 48,350 euros. The project includes surveying, surface preparation, painting, and renewal of road markings in accordance with applicable technical and safety regulations, ensuring the proper functionality and durability of the horizontal signage.
A total of 1,280 square meters will be painted with white two-component paint and glass microspheres, applied by a self-propelled machine in markings and symbols. Additionally, 31,044 linear meters of reflective white road marking, fifteen centimeters wide, will be applied. The primary objective is to maintain the horizontal signage of the entire urban route of the Bulevar Ciudad de Vícar in optimal condition to enhance traffic safety, efficiency, and comfort.
