This initiative, first introduced last year, aims to revitalize the tradition of the Juanillos in the city. The successful bidder will receive a maximum of 16,940 euros for the creation, supply, and installation of the figure, which must be molded and sculpted to be destroyed by fire.
The tender specifications state that, while the theme is open, the figure must reflect the spirit and history of the Juanillos, alluding to the life, events, or personalities of the city or country. The design must be original and unpublished, featuring elements on all its faces (360º).
Furthermore, priority will be given to materials that prevent the emission of polluting fumes during combustion, in line with environmental protection. The contractor must also install a bed of sand beneath the figure to protect the pavement from heat.
The deadline for submitting proposals is May 25. In addition to the official Juanillo, community groups and entities can participate in the traditional competition, which this year offers three prizes of 1,000, 500, and 300 euros. The Council hopes for greater participation in this festivity, which in 2025 only featured three additional Juanillos besides the official one.
