“"The municipal group Adelante Izquierda Gaditana is once again lying to the people of Cádiz when talking about protected housing in the city and, specifically, in the Los Chinchorros area, claiming that it is non-municipal land as part of an operation that was also closed by the city's former mayor."

The Housing Councilor of Cádiz City Council has refuted claims made by a municipal group regarding the promotion of protected housing in the Los Chinchorros area, asserting that the operation was finalized by the previous administration and not on municipal land.
The municipal head of Housing has denied accusations from a political group, which pointed to irregularities in the management of protected housing in Cádiz, specifically in the Los Chinchorros area. According to the councilor, the 55 homes in question are not located on municipally owned land, and the operation was agreed upon by the previous Government team in February 2023.
These homes, promoted by a private company, are offered under a limited-price sale regime. The role of Procasa, the municipal housing company, is limited to providing a list of individuals registered in the Cádiz Municipal Protected Housing Registry who meet the requirements to access them. This list includes 55 primary individuals and two reserve lists, totaling 165 potential beneficiaries.
The councilor also highlighted that, unlike the private homes in Los Chinchorros, Procasa is constructing 28 protected homes under a social rental scheme on a municipal plot in Marqués de Crópani. The rental price for these three-bedroom homes will not exceed 423 euros, with adjustments based on the income of the tenants, who must earn between 2.5 and 5.5 times the IPREM (Public Multiple Effect Income Indicator).
In addition to this promotion, the current Government team is driving a comprehensive program of affordable social rental housing in various city locations, including 20 homes in García de Sola, 53 on Avenida Marconi, and 35 intergenerational collaborative homes in the Puntales neighborhood, among others. The head of Housing emphasizes that 94% of Procasa's promotions are for affordable social rental, reaffirming the commitment to housing access in Cádiz.
