The situation for Cádiz CF has deteriorated sharply in the second half of the 2025-26 season, dropping twelve positions in the standings to 18th place. This decline has led to an unprecedented crisis in the last decade, with the team dangerously flirting with relegation to Primera Federación.
In response, Imanol Idiakez has taken on the role of the third coach of the campaign, with the urgent mission to steer the team back on track in the remaining six fixtures. The limited time and the magnitude of the problems to solve, particularly in offense, pose a significant challenge for the new manager.
The team has shown considerable fragility, recording the worst scoring record in the second half of the season, with only eight goals in fifteen matches. Furthermore, their defense has been vulnerable, conceding 28 goals in the same period and keeping a clean sheet only once. Idiakez's priority is to strengthen the defense and improve attacking efficiency to find the necessary balance that will allow the team to secure victories and avoid a disastrous outcome.
