The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs granted the educational quality seal Label FranceÉducation 2025 to IES La Jarcia in Puerto Real earlier this year. However, the formal delivery and unveiling of the commemorative plaque at the educational center took place this Thursday, marking a significant milestone for the institution.
The celebration event was attended by prominent figures such as Aurora Salvador, mayor of Puerto Real; José Ángel Aparicio, territorial delegate for Educational Development and Vocational Training in Cádiz; María Estela Villalba Valdayo, general director of Innovation and Teacher Training; Pedro Jurado Ortiz, head of the International Educational Programs service; and Marjorie Vanbaelinghem, consul general of France and delegated director of the French Institute of Spain in Seville.
The center's director, Lola Pacheco, along with teachers, students, and alumni, participated in the event, which highlighted the efforts of the educational community. This recognition validates a consolidated multilingual pedagogical project and the active promotion of the French language and culture, positioning IES La Jarcia among the Andalusian centers with this distinction in the 2025 call.
Spain leads the global Label FranceÉducation network with 129 centers, 38 of which are located in Andalusia. With the incorporation of IES La Jarcia, the province of Cádiz now has four centers with this seal, including CEIP Reggio (which obtained it in 2029 and renewed it in 2026), CEIP Reyes Católicos de Cádiz, and IES Federico García Lorca de Algeciras.
The Label FranceÉducation seal is awarded to institutions that demonstrate excellence in bilingual French education and contribute to the dissemination of French culture. This distinction not only recognizes educational quality but also integrates the centers into a global network, offering privileged access to teacher training, support for innovative projects, exchange of experiences, and online resources through the French Institute of Spain.
