Organized by the Naval Regatta Commission and the Snipe Fleet of the Real Club Náutico de Cádiz, this regatta will bring together crews from different clubs and nautical entities across Andalusia. The event is part of a ten-day circuit that runs throughout the season and is supported by the Andalusian Sailing Federation.
The Snipe class, known for its light boats designed for two crew members, maintains one of its most active fleets in the province. This Cadiz edition marks the twentieth celebration of a regatta that merges the sporting aspect with the rich naval tradition historically linked to the city.
The race course in the Bay of Cadiz is known for its variable technical conditions, influenced by winds and currents, which demands constant strategic adaptation from the crews. The organization will adjust the race program according to the weather forecast for the day.
“"The close competition for the top positions keeps the fight for first place open, adding sporting interest to this weekend's regatta."
In the previous edition, victory went to the crew from the Club Náutico de Puerto Sherry, who won the overall classification on a day characterized by changing wind conditions. Currently, in the Gold Division of the Driveris League, the crew of David Blanco and Aroa Rubio leads the provisional standings, standing out for their consistency in the initial races of the calendar.
The XX Navy Regatta will conclude with the trophy ceremony at the Puntales Naval Station, headquarters of the Naval Regatta Commission, where a gathering of all participating crews is planned. The Real Club Náutico de Cádiz, co-organizer of the event, is based in Punta de San Felipe and organizes various nautical sports activities throughout the year.
