Sport, in its purest essence, transcends barriers and abilities, allowing talent and the spirit of overcoming challenges to shine on any playing field. This philosophy is the cornerstone of the Basket Sin Límites Tournament, which returns to San Fernando for its second edition after the success of its debut last year. This championship is specifically designed for athletes with functional diversity.
What began as a provincial initiative has evolved in its second year to become an Andalusian-wide competition. Behind this proposal is the basketball team for people with functional diversity, Basket Sin Límite, which not only gives its name to the tournament but also organizes it. This project, started in 2023, already has 50 basketball players in its ranks.
The day of May 30th will be divided into two phases: the morning competition will take place in the pavilion of Almirante Laulhé Park, while the afternoon will culminate in the pavilion of the Bahía Sur sports city, where medals will be awarded to participants.
Among the confirmed teams for this edition are two formations from Basket Sin Límites, two from CD Marbella Juega, CB Puerto Real, and UB Jerez. The event has the support of the San Fernando City Council and the sponsorship of Bahía Sur and Carpe Diem.
The official presentation of the tournament took place in the pavilion of Almirante Laulhé Park, with the attendance of municipal representatives and organizing clubs. It is worth noting that the Basket Sin Límites project was recognized last June with one of the special San Fernando City of Sport awards, granted by the local council.
