The new tender for lifeguard services at Camposoto Beach in San Fernando has been launched with a budget amounting to 893,540.13 euros. This increase is due to the update of salary costs, including the recent rise in the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI), a factor not considered in the first proposal, which forced the cancellation of the previous process.
The contract, which will cover the summer seasons of 2026 and 2027, represents a significant increase compared to the previous one, which was awarded for 627,198.97 euros and was in force for the last four summer seasons. The urgency in managing this file is due to the approaching start of the bathing season.
The deadline for interested companies to submit their bids is May 13, and the opening of economic offers is scheduled for May 20. The island's City Council has guaranteed the provision of the service, which will begin on June 1, although during the first fortnight of June and the second of September, surveillance will be limited to weekends due to lower swimmer attendance.
In addition to general surveillance and rescue at Camposoto Beach, the contract's terms and conditions include lifeguard coverage for sports activities held on the beach, as well as for the traditional maritime procession of Carmen de Gallineras, which takes place on July 16.
