After the broadcast of the Spanish national team's semifinal match in the auditorium of Parque Almirante Laulhé, hundreds of people enjoyed the Feria del Carmen y la Sal. The fairgrounds hosted locals and visitors in a spectacular atmosphere, especially during Women's Day, one of the most popular days of the festival.
Many people gathered at the booths for lunch, as is tradition. At the Soledad brotherhood's booth, rice with pork ribs was prepared, while others offered "Free brothy rice". Tables filled with groups sharing the celebration, part of the cultural heritage of La Isla.
The good weather accompanied the day, with clouds, tree shade, and a refreshing breeze, even though temperatures are expected to rise slightly in the coming days. In less shaded areas, fans were seen in use. The fair features 37 booths.
Women's Day was celebrated with particular joy, characterized by flamenco dresses that colored the venue and reunions among people. The festivities are enjoyed mainly during the day, connecting with the night afterwards.
On July 16th, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Day will be celebrated, a local holiday. The day will be marked by the traditional maritime procession of the Virgen del Carmen de Gallineras at 5:00 PM. In the evening, the auditorium will host the concert by Radio Makandé at 10:30 PM.
