The city of San Fernando is preparing for its next Halloween celebration with an investment of €200,000 dedicated to urban theming. The goal is to establish the event as a tourist and leisure attraction, generating economic activity in the town.
The program will run on October 30th and 31st, and November 1st, featuring extensive decorations that will transform several areas of the city center. This aims to encourage visitor arrivals, overnight stays, and spending in the hospitality and retail sectors.
The chosen theme for this year is 1980s horror, drawing inspiration from the cinema, music, and aesthetics of that decade. The scenery and activities will be designed to recreate this retro universe.
Plaza del Rey will be the main stage, hosting a large set that will cover the consistorial facade and a high-capacity horror tunnel. Small performances and shows will also take place in the historic center, with the Alameda Moreno de Guerra and Plaza de la Iglesia featuring themed decorations and entertainment.
As a new feature, the Centro de Congresos Cortes de la Real Isla de León will be transformed into an 80s-inspired video club, screening two films daily – one family-oriented and one for adults – with special ambiance and popcorn service.
Parque Almirante Laulhé will once again host Halloween Kids, offering activities for children and families. This area will also be open to private initiatives, such as themed markets and attractions.
Mayor Patricia Cavada highlighted that these events are part of a city strategy to generate year-round activity and support local commerce and hospitality with unique, quality proposals, consolidating a programming model that stimulates the local economy.
