Works under the Better Sidewalk Plan are being carried out in various neighborhoods of San Fernando, including Las Palmeras, Diputación (El Boquete), and La Pastora. These actions are closely coordinated with neighborhood associations Las Marismas, La Pastora, and Las Palmeras, as well as with the Isla de León and Salinas y Esteros Federation of Neighbors, ensuring a response to community needs.
Current interventions include the repair of sidewalks, curb adjustments, and the creation of ramps at pedestrian crossings. The main objective is to facilitate citizen transit and ensure a more inclusive city for everyone. Specifically, sections of sidewalks are being renovated on streets such as Luis Milena, Augusto de Miranda, and Escultor Antonio Bey.
Additionally, in the El Boquete neighborhood, specific sanitation work is being carried out on stair walls, as well as painting work on various walls located in slope areas. These actions complement improvements already made in other areas of the city, such as Lope de Vega street and central thoroughfares like Maestro Portela, Lanza, and Méndez Núñez.
The council has emphasized that these interventions not only seek aesthetic improvement but also respond to functional criteria, promoting a more accessible, safe, and sustainable urban model. These maintenance tasks are part of a broader strategy that includes larger projects, such as the duplication of Pery Junquera Avenue and the upcoming comprehensive remodeling of Bonifaz street.
