The Popular Party of San Fernando has urged the local government to clarify the alleged access by the Security Councilor to a police application containing residents' personal data, demanding a precautionary suspension while the Andalusian Transparency and Data Protection Council investigates the case.

The political group has expressed its concern following a complaint filed by the Independent Police Union of Andalusia (SipAn) against the San Fernando City Council before the Andalusian Transparency and Data Protection Council. The Popular Party calls on the municipal government to act with utmost transparency and to provide immediate and truthful information regarding the reported incidents.
According to SipAn's complaint, the Security Councilor allegedly accessed a police application that allows consultation of citizens' personal information, including police incidents, judicial proceedings, and sensitive data. The union believes this access occurred without proper safeguards, potentially constituting a clear violation of data protection regulations.

"The personal data of the islanders are not a resource at the service of any political office."

The Popular Party emphasizes that residents' privacy is non-negotiable and that any public official accessing citizens' personal information outside legal frameworks must be held accountable. The political group asserts that citizens have the right to know who manages their personal information and for what purposes.
Given the seriousness of the situation, the Andalusian Transparency and Data Protection Council has already initiated actions to investigate the matter. The Popular Party demands three specific actions from the municipal government: an urgent appearance by the mayor to offer a public and detailed explanation, the precautionary suspension of access to the police application until the investigation concludes, and full cooperation from the local government with the regional body, making the findings public.
The PP of San Fernando believes that if the facts reported by SipAn are confirmed, it would not be an administrative error but a fundamental issue in the government's understanding of exercising power. Transparency and respect for citizens' privacy are legal and ethical obligations that admit no exceptions.
