The political party points out that current limitations in road and rail access diminish the town's competitiveness and hinder job creation. PP representatives highlighted, in contrast, the investment of over 40 million euros made by the Junta de Andalucía for the widening of the A-491 road.
Among the priority demands, the Popular Party urges the execution of the link between the AP-4 highway and Jerez airport, a project that would allow Rota residents direct access to Seville without passing through the Jerez urban center. Furthermore, they criticized the Ministry of Transport's refusal to add a third lane to the AP-4 to alleviate traffic congestion and denounced cuts in direct rail connections to Madrid, which have reduced train travel options in the afternoon.
The Popular Party maintains that these deficiencies in the transport network negatively affect the local economy, impacting business activity, the tourism sector, and the daily mobility of residents who travel for work or educational purposes. Municipal spokesperson Auxi Izquierdo, along with national deputies Miguel Sastre and Macarena Lorente, emphasized that these access difficulties limit Rota's development opportunities compared to other nearby areas, and urged the Ministry of Transport to allocate specific budget funds to reactivate pending projects.
