The popular party in Puerto Real has addressed the accusations made by the PSOE, which denounced a “dismantling, collapse, and saturation” of public healthcare in Andalusia and alleged privatization. The president of the popular party in the town described these criticisms as “unacceptable,” asserting that healthcare in Puerto Real has seen significant progress thanks to their party's investment and management.
“"It is unacceptable for the PSOE to resort to whitewashing and manipulation to try to hide a reality they know perfectly well: healthcare in Puerto Real has advanced with facts, with investment, and with the management of the Popular Party."
In response to what they consider “socialist propaganda,” the Popular Party has presented “concrete data, executed investments, and visible improvements” to dismantle the PSOE's narrative. In the field of Primary Care, various actions have been carried out, such as the adaptation of the SUAP in Río San Pedro, accessibility improvements at the Casines health center, modernization of its air conditioning system, and other interventions in Ribera del Muelle, including automatic doors and signage work in several municipal centers.
Regarding the University Hospital of Puerto Real, the investment has been even more significant. Noteworthy projects include the construction of a new ICU with an investment exceeding 5.4 million euros, the acquisition of high-tech equipment through the INVEAT Plan for over 5 million euros, and the renovation of the Mental Health and Pediatrics wards. Additionally, a new hospitalization floor has been enabled with an investment of over one million euros, along with multiple improvements in Emergency, dialysis, mammography, CT scans, access, and supplies.
Concerning the new ICU, the Popular Party clarified that the awarded company requested a contract modification with only 5% execution, which necessitated the cancellation of the process. They assured that they have acted responsibly, updating the specifications and moving forward with a new tender to ensure the strategic project proceeds with all guarantees. Therefore, the popular party has urged the PSOE to be more responsible with its policies and demanded an “immediate rectification.”
