After two weeks of intensive preparation, these new reservists, belonging to the 2025 call, participated in a ceremony presided over by the Deputy Director of Instruction, Training, and Evaluation, Brigadier General Melchor Marín. The training included military tactics, weapon handling, first aid, and military ethics.
“"Their dedication and commitment during this stage will lay the foundation for their future contribution as volunteer reservists in the Spanish Armed Forces."
The ceremony featured ordinance honors and a parade before the authorities, including the center's colonel director and the force commander. The candidates, under the command of Captain Santiago Miguel Vázquez, head of the volunteer reservist candidate unit, paid a heartfelt tribute to those who gave their lives for Spain.
The reservists now return home, awaiting their incorporation into the units they have selected to complete their Specific Training phase. This final stage of preparation will enable them to be ready for activation when their service is required for national defense.
“"They temporarily bid farewell to the intensive learning atmosphere they have experienced during this initial stage of their commitment to national defense."
To become a volunteer reservist, requirements include Spanish nationality, a minimum age of 18 and a maximum of 54 for troops or 57 for officers and non-commissioned officers, no criminal record, and accreditation of specific educational levels or professional qualifications for each category, according to the 2025 call published in the BOE.
