Officers from the Citizen Participation Unit of the El Puerto de Santa María-Puerto Real Police Station delivered a training workshop to members of the 'Las Canteras' Association for People with Functional Diversity in Puerto Real. The primary goal was to equip attendees with knowledge and tools for safe online navigation.
During the session, highly relevant current topics related to the dangers of new technologies and social media were discussed. Issues covered included 'grooming', 'sexting', and identity theft, with explanations of the main threats and how to prevent them.
The officers provided clear and adapted guidelines for responding to potential risk situations, aiming to help participants avoid becoming victims or, unintentionally, perpetrators of criminal behavior in the digital realm. The activity took place in an atmosphere of collaboration and active participation from the association members.
The National Police positively evaluated the experience, highlighting the warmth received and reaffirming their commitment to protecting and educating vulnerable groups against the challenges of the digital environment.
