The artist from Chiclana, María Parrado, made the prize presentation at an event held this midday. The city's mayor, José María Román, and the delegate for Social Services, Francis Salado, attended the donation, which the singer received after finishing second in the Antena 3 Televisión program.
José María Román highlighted the artist's generosity, stating that "María sings very well and, furthermore, has a very big heart and wanted to share it a little with people as dear as the families of AFNACHI". He added that "it is very nice that a fellow citizen like María has decided to donate this prize to an association like AFNACHI".
María Parrado described her experience on 'Tu cara me suena' as "precious" and explained that her fellow contestant, the winner J Kbello, decided to give her half of the prize. "I was very clear that, if the opportunity arose, I wanted to donate it to someone in Chiclana", she commented. Her experience during Christmas with AFNACHI marked her, leading her to allocate the 15,000 euros to the association to "contribute my bit".
The president of AFNACHI, Ana Isabel Gutiérrez, described the donation as "a very big truck" that will allow them to "implement more workshops, improve our facilities and the conditions for our users, as well as fight for the rights and needs that our children have". She expressed her "immense joy" that María Parrado had chosen their association.
