This initiative, communicated to the local neighborhood association in a recent meeting, aims to provide relief due to the significant loss of parking spaces since construction began in May 2022. The partial opening does not have a defined date yet, but it is considered one of the key points currently being worked on.
The La Magdalena project, with a planned completion date of September 30 after several extensions, would allow for such partial receptions. The work, which has progressed in recent weeks, will not be fully completed by the stipulated date, and tree planting is scheduled for the end of summer.
The main parking lot, located in the future park, will be accessed from Francisco Ruiz Miguel street and will feature 182 spaces, in addition to four for people with reduced mobility and two electric chargers. It will occupy an area of 8,738 square meters.
Additionally, the project includes another smaller parking area with 53 spaces and two for reduced mobility, accessible from San Juan Bosco avenue, on Zapatilla del Estero street. However, the main focus for the early opening is on the larger parking lot.
This measure is also proposed as a necessary alternative for the future works to adapt the lot on San Juan Bosco avenue, recently acquired by the City Council, where a tactical parking area is planned. This lot will not be available for vehicle parking while the work is underway.
